Sunday Pics!

"Mrs. Bill Stagg exhibiting a quilt made from tobacco sacks which she ripped up, dyed, and pieced.  Nothing is wasted on these homesteading farms. Pie Town, New Mexico."

There is no date on this, but I wonder if it is Depression or War Era.  It brings to mind the war years' saying:

Use it up,
Wear it out,
Make it do,
Or do without.

A Blessed Sunday to You!

  1. I did a little research on her and found that she was a homesteader in the 1930's in New Mexico, but can't find a date for the quilt. Interesting... We should all hold to the war years saying! ♥

    1. Interesting! And yes, the war years saying should be used all the time. Good stewardship, I think! :-)

  2. Neat photo. Would you believe I've actually been to Pie Town, NM, several times? We even considered buying property there once.

    1. Wow, that's interesting. We've spent time in Albuquerque and Tijeras, but never Pie Town.
