Saturday at the Quilt Museum - Storm at Sea, Part 2

Okay, this is our last week with Sea-themed quilts, and I have to say every one of them is stunning.  The creativity displayed is amazing.  As I've looked for quilts in this pattern, I have become inspired to make one.  How about you?

Ocean Waves
2014

This one just blows my mind. No wonder it was at the 2014 Tokyo Quilt Show.  In the photo below, you can see the subtle color changes that ripple out from the center.  Truly a masterpiece work of art.

Ocean Waves Over Bethlehem

I could find nothing more than the picture of this one, and I took the liberty of calling it "Ocean Waves Over Bethlehem."  What an amazing use of the pattern.  Very clever coloring to obtain the prominent star.

Compass in Storm at Sea

The elegance of this one moves me.  The embellishment is fantastic and the quilting amazing.  Can you see the sunrise and ships at the top?  I wonder who made this stunning piece and who has the honor of owning it?

On a Quilted Breeze
87" x 109"

This one is also an incredible piece of artwork.  The center panel is a a painting done by Dennis McGregor and incorporated into this masterpiece by the Oregon Quilter's Guild.  My words are much less inspiring than the ones in this blogpost:

Jo Moury's Storm at Sea

This is a pattern created for an Electric Quilt/Inklingo Love the Lines Contest from 2012.  It was one of the top 25 contest winners.  I just love it!
